MUT0MB0 PRIVACY POLICY / LAST UPDATED 9 SEPTEMBER 2026_

It collects nothing.

The short version

Mut0mb0 does not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal information. There is no account, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier and no unique id of any kind. Nothing about what you browse leaves your computer.

What is stored, and where

Mut0mb0 keeps four things in your browser's own local extension storage, on your machine:

  • Your settings, meaning which protections are on.
  • The list of sites you told it to trust.
  • Counts of what it blocked, by category and by day.
  • How long video has been playing today, if you left that counter on.

None of it is transmitted. Removing the extension removes all of it. You can clear the counts at any time from the settings page, and you can export everything Mut0mb0 knows as a file to see for yourself.

Why it needs each permission

  • Read and change data on sites you visit. A pop-up can come from any page, so the shield has to be able to run on any page. It looks at the page's own structure to find windows opening and links stretched over video. It does not read what is on the page, and it does not send anything anywhere.
  • Storage. Keeps your settings, your trusted sites and your block counts on this computer.
  • Downloads. Cancels an installer a page starts on its own, and lets you allow it if you wanted it.
  • Notifications. Tells you a download was stopped when the tab that started it has already closed.
  • Alarms. Runs the sleep timer and the break reminder.

Network requests

Mut0mb0 makes no network requests of its own. It blocks requests your browser was about to make to known pop-up ad networks, using a list that ships inside the extension. It does not download that list at runtime, and it does not run any code that came off the internet.

The mailing list

The signup form on this website is entirely separate from the extension. Mut0mb0 works exactly the same whether you join it or not, and it will never be required. If you do sign up, Future History Labs holds your email address to send occasional notes about what the lab releases, and you can leave at any time.

Children

Mut0mb0 is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.

If this ever changes

It will be announced here and in the release notes before it takes effect, in plain language. A version of Mut0mb0 that collects something would be a different product, and the promise not to build one is written into the project's own rules.
